Training

We all have room to grow as an individual. Metis has teamed up with Credo Growth where we tackle subjects such as stress management, personality types, communication styles & teamwork.

We also love mentorship. Freelancing can be a lonely road and let’s be honest most of our friends cannot relate to our challenges. Mentorship at Metis is available through our open “door” (read: call) policy for those tough decisions & challenges you encounter, as well as our monthly one-on-one chats where we can discuss your challenges, goals and action plan to keep your ship moving forward.

Surrounded by a community of experts, Metis calls on our experienced Unicorns to facilitate training sessions on their speciality. Learn from others and have your moment to “show-off”… we mean showcase your amazing talent.

In addition to this, our product expert, Dylan McKinley, will facilitate skills trainings and virtual coffee chats to discuss, update and educate our Unicorns on the latests deveopments in our ever progressing industry.

These masterclasses tackle the “business(y)” training. How to read your financial statements, how does personal tax work, better ways to communicate with your clients… these are all CRITICAL skills we need to ensure our business is a success.

We tend to chase our own tails from the moment we open our email on Monday. These full day workshops offer you an opportunity to step out of the chaos, reflect and strategise on how to make your business and service offering better. Learn from your teammates and find ways to work smarter (not harder).

Where do unicorns go for help… over the rainbow of course.

Every year we receive the same feedback when we ask the question “where did you find the most value at Metis?” over and over again we hear “from the community”. Our community is the gold of Metis with a variety of experts available to lend a helping hand.

Whether you are stuck on a project, need insight into a new tool or feature, or require someone to step in so you can take some much-deserved leave, the Metis community is here for support & accountability.

We are also here to provide you with resources through our Unicorn Info Hub & even a chat group for that pressing question or watercooler moment.

We promote a share knowledge culture at Metis & encourage you to ask (and give) help when needed.

Business Support

Admin can suck time out of your billable hours. Metis aims to reduce these non-billable hours for our Unicorns by offering certain business support functions:

We bill the client and handle billing enquiries and debt collection.

Bigger companies tend to want certain compliance in place. This includes being a registered company, VAT registered, BEE certificates available, POPI compliance, NDA contracts or service contracts to name a few.

Metis has this compliance in place opening the door for our freelancers to work with larger organisations.

While we encourage our unicorns to continue building their own client base, an important aspect of the Metis eco-system is to build & grow not only the Metis portfolio but your client portfolio.

This includes advising you how to price, marketing your services, finding the RIGHT clients that tick all your boxes. Think of us as the “tinder” for your business.
